Who doesn't love a sprinkle of cinnamon in their hot chocolate or latte and who doesn't love some cinnamon swirls or cinnamon rolls from Starbucks? This is one of the spices that makes those beverages and dishes delicious, but aside from giving the food some FUNtastic taste, it also has a lot of healthy benefits.

Would you believe me if I say that a teaspoon of cinnamon mostly contains calcium? Cinnamon also contains iron, fiber and a lot of vitamin C, K, manganese.

But did you also know that a long time ago, Cinnamon was more valuable than gold? Why? Because the potential health benefits to cinnamon could be stated as nothing short to astonishing. A bark of Cinnamon, may look so simple, but it's powers are great.

Cinnamon were used by the Chinese for Chinese medicines and have long revered cinnamon as a superpower to treat illness, such as indigestion, cold, cramps, bloating, diarrhea, upset stomach, gas, it is also believed to improve ones energy, vitality and circulation. And it also slows down the spoiling of the food, because cinnamon inhabits bacterial growth and food spoilage making it a natural food preservative.

One of the healthy benefits of Cinnamon is that with 1/2 teaspoon per day, it reduces LDL Cholesterol levels, LDL is also commonly known as bad cholesterol. And by reducing the LDL cholesterol helps you reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. 

Cinnamon may also help treat Diabetes 2 by lowering the blood sugar levels and increasing the amount of insulin production in the body. Studies shows that Cinnamon regulates blood sugar which helps the people who are diabetics and hypoglycemics alike. This is also good for anyone who wants to have a stable energy and moods.

It also reduces the pain linked to arthritis. And if you combine honey and cinnamon together, it will surely relieve you from arthritis pain.

A study also shows that cinnamon may reduce the proliferation of leukemia and lymphoma cancer cells.

It has also been proven the cinnamon are effective for menstrual pain and infertility, simply because cinnamon contains a natural chemical called cinnamaldehyde, which increases the hormone progesterone and decreases testosteron production in women, helping to balance the hormones.

And by just smelling the cinnamon, it can help you boost cognitive function and memory.

And here's another benefit that I'm sure everyone will love. Cinnamon can help you lose weight. Because cinnamon can help stabilize blood sugar, which helps you lose weight, just a couple of dashes of cinnamon on your beverage or food in the morning will do the trick.
